London House Hotel - لندن

We enjoyed our stay and was glad to have a room that we could control the air conditioner. The staff was very helpful and we were close to two main underground stations. The access to internet for 50 pence for 15 minutes was great so we could check online for just a few things. Room was small as we expected, but we were looking for a place to put our luggage and to sleep, we wanted to see London, not live in the hotel room!

I stayed at the London House Hotel during the first week of July, 09. Overall it was a nice hotel for the money, considering it was in London where everything is ludicrously expensive. The room was quite clean. It was small, but not overly so. To read some reviews about London area hotels you would expect the rooms to be of Liliputian proportions. I always wonder who really cares about the size of their room anyway - I didn't fly half way around the world to sit in a hotel room. The people at the reception were nice and helpful. They seemed to all be foreign to London and some were more knowledgeable than others. One young Italian woman (don't remember her name) was particularly helpful, and she seemed to be a manager of some sort. The breakfast was okay, considering it was included in the price of the room. I would not pay for it though. It consisted of white toast with jelly, cereal, coffee, and a bit of sliced cheese. Nothing to jump and down about, but if you are on a budget it is a good way to start off the day. Finally, the neighbourhood was less than great. I never felt in danger, but it was certainly not upscale. There were boisterous groups of young-uns parading around the main street of Queensway until late at night everynight. The street is about two blocks from the hotel, so it did not bother us in our room. But, it was not a very romantic street to walk in. Overall, I would suggest it to a friend looking for an inexpensive place to stay.

I went to this hotel with my girlfriend to watch a concert in Hyde Park. The hotel is excellent and it was in a perfect zone for us. The hotel is modern and clean. The reception staff were very efficient and friendly and the breakfast was extremely good. The room we had was in the basement and whilst the room itself was modern and of a decent size, the continuing hotel building works right outside our bedroom window made it impossible to spend anytime in the room during the day. Not a problem as we spent all our time outside, but it was very noisy when we checked in at 2pm!!In general the hotel's really good value for money though and we would certainly use it again.

Pros: 1. Location 2. Internet access in the lobby - although expensive (0.50 pounds per 15 minutes) it was convenient for late night and emergency access. Cons: 1. Indiferent staff - borderline rude 2. Never changed the towels in the 5 days we stayed there 3. No hand towels are provided 4. The towel used as floor mat had serious yellow stains 5. The bedsheets had hairs all over them 6. The shower was clogged - made us feel like we were taking a bath rather than a shower 7. The little restroom shelf was never cleaned - water stains all over 8. The glass cups provided were just repositioned in the restroom shelf without providing clean ones - even if it was evident we had used them i.e. orange juice remains... we wonder if our glass cups were even clean to start with 9. The windows kept banging with the wind - good thing we were on the 2nd floor, else we would have had a hard time falling asleep thinking someone was knocking on our window! 10. Choice of only 6 TV channels 11. No clock or alarm in the room Bottomline: If you find this hotel with a VERY VERY good rate and you are in a tight budget go for it. Else, try to find a better place to stay!

The hotel was fine. I was looking for something clean that was relatively inexpensive in a decent location and this fit the bill. The room and bathroom are extremely small, so if you're looking for an extended stay, this may not be your place. But for a night or two to see London, it's fine. My one complaint was a lack of an alarm clock, phone, or wake-up call service. I suppose I'm partly to blame for not bringing an alarm clock, but when you're relying on your internal clock to wake you up for a morning flight out of Heathrow, it's not the most restful sleep you'll get. I would stay again simply because it was clean, quiet, affordable, and in a good location.

Make no mistake, this is a London budget hotel, which means the amenities are minimal. Expect a rickety wardrobe instead of a closet, a tiny but functional bathroom, a marginally comfortable bed, and a bare-bones breakfast (toast, cheese, croissant, juice, coffee, milk, three kinds of cereal). No phone, no clock, and certainly no ironing board. However, unlike some other London budget hotels, at the London House I also found the staff to be friendly and professional, the lift to work, and the carpet and sheets to be clean (the walls were dirty and scuffed-up, though). In addition to the coin-operated Internet kiosks in the lounge, there appears to be free WiFi in the guest rooms -- at least, I got free and reliable reception in mine. The hotel's location is excellent: just off Queensway Road in Bayswater, it's convenient to groceries, a chemist, lots of restaurants and two Tube stations (Bayswater and Queensway), and is less than a mile from the Portobello Road market. This isn't necessarily a hotel to which I would bring my wife or family, but when traveling alone again on business and needing a place in London to spend one or two nights, I'll definitely look up the London House again.

refurbishment of the outside of this hotel is going on at the moment so can be noisy early in the morning, you will be wanting to get out of your bed anyway as there are very uncomfortable beds (management says new mattresses are ordered) Breakfast is really basic, toast, cereal or croissants so buy fruit or yoghourts at nearby shops, the coffee is good though! Good internet access in the lounge and a good location make this hotel a good budget stay!

London is not the easiest city to find a good, clean hotel for a reasonable price but after staying at the London House Hotel I feel I have found just that. There is nothing spectacular about the hotel but I have no serious complaints about it either. The hotel is very clean, in a good location close to tube stops, restaurants, and shops, and offered very affotable rates. I knew going into it that it was undergoing some renovation so I was not put off by the construction noise or mess and the only thing that irritated me were the inconsiderate hotel guests who found a need to open and slam doors at all hours of the night. This is not a reflection on the hotel but being that the walls are on the thin side, anyone who is a light sleeper may find the slamming of doors a concern.

Very good condition of the room. Very satisfied in general. BUT the breakfast personnel was very rude and unrespectful and also the breakfast very poor quality. They stopped the breakfast for the customers and they started eating for themselves. Very very rude. But overall very good hotel.

This hotel was a great find! It's obviously been recently refurbished, so the inside is clean & modern throughout. My room, (single) although compact, was not overly small by London standards, & had everything I needed, including a decent quality TV, kettle, hairdyer & complimentary toiletries. The en-suite bathroom again was compact but new, & very clean. As the hotel's not directly on the main road, it seems very quiet - I had my window open all night, & did not hear any traffic sounds. Breakfast was fine - cereals, toast, croissants, & included in the price, which was a bonus. There are also a couple of pay-as-you-go computers in the bar for internet access. The location is very convenient too - just round the corner from Bayswater tube station & shops/restaurants. If you're looking for somewhere clean, quiet & convenient as a base to explore London, then I would recommend this as excellent value for money. I will definitely be using it for overnight stays in the future.

London House was a good place for anyone looking for a economical lodgings in London. It's within walking distance of Paddington and Bayswater stations, and not far from Hyde Park. Don't expect anything fancy.

The hotel was lovely, the room was clean, only thing about the room was the air conditioning was not working it was stuck at 19 degrees so it was pretty warm in the room. and the breakfast is not much to talk about. just the basics toast,tea, some cereals but other then that was hotel was very nice, i would go back again as its in a great location really close to two tube stations, and easy to find!!

This hotels in a nice location with easy access to Bayswater & Queensway Tube stations. The V&A, Science Museum, Albert Hall, Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens all within easy walking distance. There's also a few decent places to eat on Queensway but we struggled to find any non-chain pubs. That's true for a lot of parts of London though. The room was very clean with an immaculate toilet & shower which is always nice. It was a little noisy at night as we faced onto the front of the hotel and there was no double glazing so any noise just passed right through. The TV was also a little disappointing analogue only so that means 5 channels in grain-o-vision - not a deal breaker though! Breakfast was included as was in the form of toast & cereal self service, basic but adequate. Also the double bed was a little bit on the small side and there was no table or chairs in the room. All very small points and I would definitely stay there again.

Good location, just a short walk from Bayswater tube. Impressive London terrace, with good modern decor. Reception staff very prompt and helpful, our room was tidy with all we needed for our one night stay. The sash window did rattle and bang a bit, soon fixed with a spoon! We were unfortunate enough to have a noisey neighbour, but not the hotels fault. Very comfortable, warm and safe.

Very clean Friendly staff Even more comfortable bed than my own (tho i did have 5 pints so this may be bias!) Didnt hear a noise all night, as i was worried it was going to be noisy. the hotel is newly refurbished and basically everything is new. the location is ideal for tourist as it is close to queensway, nottingham hil and not too far from the centre.

The staff at London House provided excellent information about the city--tube stops for sights, highlights, etc. The room, though small, proved clean and comfortable. The hotel is undergoing some construction, so during the day it can be a bit loud, but only during hours when a tourist would be out seeing the sites.

The staff were courteous and the room comfortable. Very conveniently located near Bayswater Underground station. However, our bathroom reeked of cigarette smoke so much we had to keep the door shut. Also, the wireless network did not work and the staff had no idea how to resolve this. (The internet computers in the lobby are outrageously expensive - one pound for 1/2 hour.) The breakfast was disappointing: basically just toast and cereal for food, which is not very filling when you're preparing for a day walking in the city. For the money you can probably do better.

This hotel was close to the Tube, a great price, and included breakfast. The room was a decent size, the bathroom a little small but clean. The only complaint is that the wireless didn't work. We paid for it, and it went out halfway through our time. We went to the front desk and asked them to fix it, which they didn't for 4 days. There was a computer in the lobby that you could pay to use, so we still had internet access, but wireless didn't work for 4 of 5 days.

Great place, great staff, decent included breakfast. Only drawback was the very small room, but big common area somewhat offsets that. Very good overall for the price.

If you are looking for a hotel that doesn't offer much else than a clean room and a good bathroom, then this is a good hotel for you. Right in Bayswater, close to the city center...

The London house is spartan and sparkling. The hotel is recently remodeled, but even the parts that have not been remodeled are exceptionally well maintained for ANY hotel, much less a budget one. The only disappointment was breakfast, and that was no more disappointing than similarly priced rooms. Coffee, tea, day old rolls, and toast. Overall the room is a stellar deal. Good location, nice neighborhood, excellent deal.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the London House hotel. It was only one night, but the room was comfortable and modern. The only drawback was the small bathroom, but it was clean and had a modern shower (unlike some other places we stayed in Europe!) The neighborhood is cute and funky and in pretty good proximity to London's sites.

This hotel was ideal for a concert at Hyde Park. We stayed for 2 nights in a double room in the basement with ensuite. When we arrived we were surprised at just how good the location actually was,...very close to Bayswater tube station. The staff gave a decent service, there was no 'wow factor' but to be honest,..no one seems to in London anyway,...and yes, I am a Brit and am quite used to this! The room was very small but exactly as stated. Everything we needed and very clean. We were located right next to both the breakfast room and some toilets. Not a problem, yes there was noise, but nothing to really complain about. Good for the money, if you're just looking for a place to sleep. Only downside was that not enough towels were supplied, sure if we had have asked we would have been offered more, so not a major prob. Overall, a great place to crash, and I would certainly stay there again,...bargain!

The hotel is in the process of renovation, but my room had probably been done 6 months or so ago. The room was spartan and spotless. It had two generally comfortable beds, a pair of inexpensive nightstands with lamps, and a flat panel TV. The bathroom was small, but spotless. The included breakfast was the only disappointment - and a waste of time. What seemed to be day old croissants and a limited cereal selection were accompanied by butter, jelly, milk and coffee.

The hotel was quite comfortable and very clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I do think we had a small double room and the en-suite was compact! Breakfast was straightforward but was a bit of a frenzy. Would stay there again.

We stayed to London House Hotel for one night only and we were quite pleased overall with the hotel. Our room was basic but clean. The hotel is extremely well located in a pleasant and lively area. Breakfast was nice too. The only drawback was the bathrooms, which were very far from our room and not great at all.

Ett fräscht nyrenoverat hotell. Vi valde billigaste billiga alternativet i källaren, det var bra och fint badrum men sängen var en överaskning. Sängen saknade bäddmadrass! Resåren trängde in i ryggen men man överlever två nätter.

Hotellet är enkelt men rent och snyggt. Det fanns dusch och toalett i rummet vilket jag uppskattar.

Billig, rent, hyggelig og i en hyggelig gate. Rommet var bitte lite, men nok for to. De kunne vurdert en knagg eller to på veggen, men greit nok.

Hotellets beliggenhed er rigtig god. Ligger meget tæt på flere undergrundsstationer og er derfor meget velegnet, hvis man vil ud og se London. Morgenmaden var lidt skuffende - toast og toast og automatkaffe. Vores værelse var ikke ret stort, men det blev gjort fint rent og udsigten fra værelset var rigtig god - lige ud til en grøn park. Der var fredeligt og roligt - så man får helt klart meget for pengene

Der er absolut ikke noget at sætte fingeren på ift. dette hotel. Personalet er venlige og hjælpsomme, og indretning af værelset fint. Beliggenheden er helt perfekt - ligger meget tæt på station Bayswater, der igen ligger på Circle-line, hvor også Liverpool-station, som man kommer ind på fra Stansted, ligger. Der er ingen nattelarm fra gaden, da hotellet ligger på en lille sidegade uden trafik. Morgenmaden kan der ikke skrives hjem om, men vi købte selv lidt skinke og frugt som vi havde med ned om morgenen, og så var vi godt hjulpet - brødet er friskt og kaffen ok. Vi er slet ikke i tvivl om, at vi vil benytte dette hotel, når vi næste gang kommer til London.

Hotel in toller Lager, Zimmer / Bad klein aber ok, Service freundlich. Das Hotel wird noch bis Ende 2009 renoviert, dann sind bestimmt auch die Flure ansprechender. Der Frühstücksraum hat Hostel-Charakter und das Frühstücksangebot wäre noch Verbesserungsfähig. Fazit - wer eine günstige Übernachtungsmöglichkeit in bester Lage sucht, der ist hier gut untergebracht!

Hotellet var rent, fräscht och nyrenoverat. Mycket sköna sängar och bra dusch. Det perfekta budgethotellet, med bra läge nära tunnelbana och massor av restauranger och billigare matställen. Den kontinentala frukosten var helt okej. Ett minus var att det var väldigt lyhört, man hörde tydligt när folk pratade ute i korridoren tidigt på morgonen. Tycker också att personalen kunde varit mer serviceinriktade, de tittade knappt upp när man kom. Jag kan dock starkt rekommendera detta hotell och jag bor gärna där igen!

l'hôtel est bien situé, près de portobello et notting hill, il est propre. Le personnel d'accueil est agréable. Comme dans tout hôtel, on ne choisi pas ses voisins de chambre, seul désagrément subi.

Alles in allem eine runde Sache. Zimmer für zwei Personen etwas klein aber voll in Ordnung sind ja nur zum schlafen da!!!Täglich neue Handtücher und geputztes Bad.Ruhige Lage aber direkt um die Ecke beginnt das Londoner Stadtleben

Das Hotel ist sehr gut geeignet für einen Städtetrip. Die Lage nahe der U-Bahnstation Bayswater und damit direkt an der Circle und District Line ist überaus praktisch. Nahe des Hotels gibt es ausreichend Verpflegungsmöglichkeiten. Die Zimmer sind recht klein, doch sauber und in ruhiger Lage. Das Frühstück beschränkt sich auf das nötigste und beginnt leider erst um 7.30 Uhr. Doch das Personal zeigt sich recht hilfsbereit und die Rezeption ist rund um die Uhr besetzt.

Plus: Hotel ligt in een erg mooie wijk met veel winkels, restaurants en de metro om de hoek. Erg vriendelijk personeel. Relatief goedkoop, we hadden geboekt zonder ontbijt maar mochten dit toch gebruiken. Ontbijt stelt op zich niet veel voor, maar is prima te doen voor een paar ochtenden. Shuttle service van en naar Stansted. Min: Kamers zijn klein. De TV heeft maar 5 zenders. Maar 1 nachtlampje aanwezig. Kleine wasbak. Allemaal kleine ongemakjes maar niks ernstigs dus.

London House var et enkelt og greit hotell, hverken mer eller mindre. Det var rent, frokosten var grei, rommet var lite men med alt man behøvde. Betjeningen var veldig nøytral (kanskje litt mot det mutte...), men var hyggelig nok ved henvendelse.
